Ripstop is an extra durable weave that features a subtle grid pattern in with thicker yarns in the grid to protect the fabric from ripping, so ripstop is an excellent choice for hiking and outdoor garments. It's popular for elastic waist hiking pants and button down shirts for outdoor layering.
