Long pins can hold together many layers of fabric. Flat head is convenient for stitching and ironing. Head is not heat resistant. Pins are anti-rust treated.
These are personally my favorite pins for working with cottons, linens, jackets, quilts etc - they are super strong and can hold a lot of bulk without bending. The flat head is convenient for handling so I don't fumble with them when placing the pin.
