November Community Food Fundraiser 🍂

November Community Food Fundraiser 🍂

For the month of November, we will be collecting 10% of our profits to donate to our favorite local food-focused nonprofits.

Because everything is more fun with friends involved, Amber from Ambivert Fabrics will be joining me in this effort and will also be giving away 10% of her profits for the month. Amber is also based in Eugene, OR and focuses on natural fibers and online sales, so of course, we are pals! She offers a more muted/ earthy color palette and usually stocks lots of Fableism and has beautiful fabrics from abroad. I really appreciate her taking the initiative to make this movement stronger!

Since we are both in Eugene, OR, we are focused on our local food nonprofits and we've decided to split the funds evenly between Food for Lane County and Burrito Brigade. We love that Food for Lane County provides a dependable local food bank, robust local garden, education and work opportunities, and Burrito Brigade is running around town providing hot meals to anyone in need and refills the local mini food pantries on the streets. These two nonprofits address hunger at different levels of our local community so we couldn't choose between them.

Local Shops with Canned Food Drives:

Jean Marie's in Springfield (quilting +_garment fabrics)- Get 10% off in person with food donation (some exclusions apply)

Dreamery Fabrics (newly opened! garment fabric store) in Downtown Eugene - Get 10% off in person with food donation

Quilt Creative (quilting fabric shop) in Downtown Eugene - Get 10% off in person with food donation of 2 or more food items

Other Online Shops who are joining in on fundraising:

Local Food Resources:

Check out Burrito Brigade's list of local resources.

I'm still hearing back from other shops that might want to get involved (let me know if that's you! bethany@fluidplusdrape.com) so I'll be adding to this list. I suggest that online-facing shops donate a cut of profits or sales (whatever you are comfortable with) and that brick-and-mortars host physical food drives in their shops.

With love,

Bethany
